Chances are, if you live in San Francisco, Sausalito, or parts of the East Bay you will have noticed Fleet Week has arrived from unmistakable roar of fighter jets flying overhead. For me it’s a thrill, and I am always in awe at the amount of time and practice it must take those pilots to fly with such precision. I was lucky enough to watch the show on the bay which meant the best views of the action flying by and overhead. When in the Bay Area it is always best to layer because the weather can change quickly with the wind blowing or the fog rolling in or out. This day I was incredibly lucky to actually be hot at times because there wasn’t a cloud in sight and the wind was mild. That is a rarity in the Bay Area, let alone on the water itself. I opted for jeans, which is my go-to wardrobe for the bottom half, a thin, high neck Old Navy 3/4 length shirt to protect my chest and arms from the sun, which I tied on one side to give it some shape, and my Aldo boots.
These boots are probably the best shoe purchase I have made this year. They are the perfect height up the front of the ankle and they don’t cut my leg off in a weird place making my legs look short, which means I can wear them with rolled up jeans, dresses and skirts.
My hat is a special piece to me, as it is the first of my business branding for my budding career as a decorator and home designer. As I was raised with a licensed, general contractor for a father my love of houses and the smell of fresh lumber at the hardware store has been ingrained in me from a young age. I guess you could say it’s in my blood! By day (and evening, and night sometimes) I am a licensed real estate agent in the Bay Area. I am taking my knowledge from both sides of the business and slowly combining them into one. I am all about “dreaming big”, but I am also all about “actions speak louder than words,” so you have to push and work hard for the things you want or it’ll never happen. A branded hat, as small as it may seem, is a huge step in the right direction.
Thank you to the men and women of the United States Coast Guard who sacrifice all for our beautiful country. Because of them I had the best view in the house for the air show out on the San Francisco Bay.
