The second recipe we decided to try was “Sticky Buns.” They were basically a dense bun with pine nuts and raisins mixed in, then topped with a sugar wash to make them “sticky.” To serve you cut open, fill with whipped cream, and sprinkle with ground pistachios. A unique combination of nuts and dried fruit, but very good!
Mixing the yeast to make the buns rise.
My dad came in to show me how to kneed properly. He’s got the technique down! Thanks Dad!
I was having a hard time getting the pine nuts to stay in the dough.
Roll into balls.
Egg white wash.
Sugar wash while warm. Mmmm!
Fresh whipped cream! I seriously don’t understand why people buy the kind in a can. Making whipped cream is so easy and it tastes SO MUCH better than store bought. It is one of my favorite things to whip up to go along with strawberry shortcake, or to add a bit to homemade hot chocolate! *Recipe for couples scratch made hot chocolate here!*
Another successful recipe down!
